New Year’s Resolution? Start a Blog!

“A Blog for the Rest of Us?”  That depends on what you’re looking for.  If you want “get rich quick” schemes, you’re in the wrong spot.  If you need validating, activist rants you are in the wrong place, too.  You are certainly not going to find any conservative/liberal/whatever rhetoric here.  But don’t go just yet, because what you are going to find are the musings of a slightly eccentric guy, thinking outside the box to make a good living in a terrible economy.

My name is Brian.  This is my blog.  Truth be told, I know little to nothing about blogging, but this is something I’ve wanted to do for a while now.  “99% and Thriving” is about making money independently.  I don’t care about politicians, the economy, “the 1%,” or what my taxes are being spent on.  None of that can keep a creative, hard worker from setting and achieving goals.  My first goal is to earn $10,000 in 100 days, outside of my day job.  I’ll provide regular updates on my progress toward this goal, with hopes that my ideas, successes, and failures might inspire you to try something new and make a few extra bucks for yourself along the way.  I’m no stranger to cobbling together a decent living in out-of-the box ways, and we could all use some extra cash.

Now for my big disclaimer.  This one is a shout out to all the lawyers out there.  I can not guarantee that anything I write about will yield the same (or any) results for you.  My ideas may even be illegal where you reside, or unsafe for you to attempt.  You need to be a grown up and determine those things for yourself.  Do not read this blog if you take nitrates for chest pain, as it may cause an unhealthy drop in blood pressure.  Please consult your doctor if you read my blog and have an erection lasting more than four hours.  I will be really flattered, but you will need medical attention.

You have free will, and it is your choice to decide what risks you are willing to take.  Just assume that anything I suggest could leave you dead, broke, or both.  I reserve the right to be controversial and offensive when I deem it appropriate.  I also reserve the right to delete any comments that I deem inappropriate, offensive, or stupid.  If you enjoy reading my posts and want to throw a few bucks my way, you can find my Paypal donation button here.  There are over 100,000,000 blogs on the Internet right now, thank you for making to the end of my first post.

The #phraseoftheday is “Pick something that works and do it better.”  Welcome to 99% and Thriving!
